“Success is moving from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.” ~ Sir Winston Churchill

It sounds jaded but so true. Success is something that doesn’t happen overnight. Success is something you have to work at with your dreams, your goals and most importantly, your enthusiasm.

Never let a day go by to where what you are dreaming of never comes to fruition. Your dream is there. It may go through some alterations but keep your spirits high and if you get frustrated, take a quick break and step away but come back with all the reasons why you wanted to do this in the first place.

Enthusiasm is Key. Enthusiasm is Happy and Happy is Good!! Never give up!!

3 Steps to Think Positive for Success

Ask, Believe, Receive~”Whatsoever you shall ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive”~Matthew 21:22

There are 3 Steps to Meditating for Success.

1.      Ask.  Ask yourself, “What do you really want?” Write in the present tense and be clear about what you really want for yourself. Keep in mind what makes you happy, what makes you passionate about something and how can you help others in doing so?

2.      Believe.  Believe that it is already yours. Believe that you can see it happening, believe that you are in that moment of being where and doing what you want for yourself.

3.      Receive.  You deserve all good things that life has to offer. Remember that.

The way you think has a huge influence on the way you “be.” Yes, I said the way you “be.”  Have you heard the quote, “I think, therefore, I am.” ~ Rene Descartes When you “be” thinking negative your thoughts will directly affect how you “be.”

“Your thoughts and your feelings create your life. It will always be that way, guaranteed!  You have the power to change anything because you are the one who chooses your thoughts and you are the one who feels your feelings.” ~ from the book, “The Secret”

I say this always, STAY POSITIVE. It can be so very hard, especially when you have so many people in your life that for some reason want to insist on bringing you down. Stay true to yourself and Believe in yourself. You know what is right for you and what is wrong for you and you always have a choice so make the decision that is wisest for your own benefit.

7 Ways to Motivate Your Day

It’s after the weekend and back to the office or back to your day job. Even if you work from home you should always be ahead of the game. The best thing to do to get ahead of the weekend is to get your mindset there. The art of being self-motivated is to be and stay focused.

  1. Write a To Do List the night before. Keep it simple. Prioritize by importance and work your way down. You should end up with at least 5 to 7 items by the time you’re done. This is a guide that will keep you in check just in case distractions come your way (and you know they will) and if you don’t get them all done, it’s OK!!
  2. Go to bed early!! This is a must!! Neither you nor anyone around you will get things done if you are at the office complaining that you didn’t get enough rest so REST!!
  3. Rise Early!! When that alarm clock strikes, get up and get busy. If you’re a snoozer, set your clock an hour earlier so you can get that last bit of rest in. It’s a mind game, I tell you.
  4. Breakfast!! It’s important to eat something in the morning. I’m a coffee drinker so the first thing I do is start a pot of coffee and get some breakfast in my system.
  5. Move!! You’re body needs circulation of the blood. It could be Yoga, the Gym or even walking your dog in the morning. At least 20 to 30 minutes will give you that boost of energy that you need.
  6. Pick a “Quote of the Day” or “Mantra” you can do this while you’re in the shower. I used to pick a status of the day for Facebook and everyday I’d post it. You can pick a quote just to keep for yourself. It would be a good idea to pick something motivating to last you through the day.
  7. Commit to being motivated. It’s not hard to do especially when you know what you have to do for the day.

Self-Motivation is the key to all your days especially through these trying times when you don’t know if you’ll be laid off next and you don’t know if your boss or co-workers are trying to figure out another way to throw you off your game. Days can be tough but if you organize ahead of everyone, you’re already winning. Don’t get stuck under the bus and definitely don’t let anyone throw you under the bus either. Aim on having a wonderfully, productive week and it’ll happen for you.

The Focus is On You!!

In doing the MediaFast, the focus is on you, and being that the focus is on you, making the best of that time would be the best thing you could do to make the best of the MediaFast in general.

Off with the TV, off with the radio and off with the internet…hmmm, well the internet lasted for maybe a couple of hours into the first day but because I work from home and use the internet for work, it was basically a necessity that I be on it. However, it all boils down to what you actually do on the internet and the unnecessary time that you can waste being on the internet that the MediaFast was good for. So with that being said, (patting myself on the back), I managed to stay away from my regular social networking sites, such as, Facebook and Twitter for a total of 5 whole days!! That was probably the best thing that I could ever do. These social networks can reel you in for hours upon hours of the day and before you know it, you’re stuck in front of the computer and a good 2 hours has now passed you by because you’re constantly keeping up with the comments and statuses and tweets and retweets that are continually floating down the computer screen. Being away from it for 5 days helped me to recognize that a comment or tweet just isn’t that important to wait around for and indulge in. In order to get peace of mind, it can wait. Now I am not knocking the use of Facebook or Twitter one bit, but you should definitely learn to discipline yourself from it because it can be a waste of some good quality time for yourself.

Now TV was rather difficult. First off, I do not live alone and my boyfriend is definitely an avid TV watcher and being that it is football and now basketball season and the fact that he loves all the CSI and Law and Order episodes, it makes it very difficult. I ended up sneaking a peak at the Lakers game on Tuesday night and after that, it was all over, I ended up watching the whole game and yessss, the Lakers won!! I did manage during the day to not watch TV, stuck to my regular work and read a good book during quiet times but after another day of complete quietness, I began to watch more and more TV. Now with the help of MediaFast, I did manage to only limit myself to watching things like the History Channel, HGTV and maybe some biographies so I still did keep up my bargain with keeping away from the news, media and gossip or reality TV. Again, it is all how you discipline yourself in what you watch and how you handle your spare time.

Radio is a piece of cake. I love music but I really haven’t taken much time into listening to the radio for the past couple of months probably even years because everything is on video or on the internet.

So there you have it, my experience with MediaFasting. It was pretty much shortened up to 5 days. As I read some of the tweets about it, I did happen to see several people checking in, adding their experiences, most of them good and then some of them giving up after the first day. All in all, it was a good experience and it really helped me focus on more of getting to know me, it helped me catch up on a much needed book and also helped me to make plans and believe me there are some plans in progress!! I’m so excited about them too!!

Just remember, you’re never too busy to take care of yourself. You come first before anyone else, remember that!!  Take Care all :0)

MediaFast One Week starts Monday 12am

The idea came up from a well-known celebrity on Twitter and paraded through timelines Saturday night. Through the help of another well-known celebrity, many people were on a twittering frenzy of their needs for closure and needs for more positivity and an end to a negative cycle that has been going on in their lives.

“The Entertainment Fast is to get you to exercise your mind, harness your creativity, Learn a trade, Start a hobby. Read.”  ~ undisclosed

“This Media Fast is gonna be epic. We can make the difference we so often wish for MindPower.”  ~ undisclosed

Everyone goes through something in their life, there are many testimonies one goes through in order to grow. These testimonies are there for a reason. They are there to teach you and they are there for you to teach others with your experience.

Lots of lives were touched that night as he retweeted their tweets and asked if there was anyone out there that could offer their help to follow these people. Many friends were made that night, thanks to this celebrity and his suggestion to try the media fast became the main agenda for most in order to bring the focus back to themselves and not the negativity that seems to surround them.

The media which includes television, internet and radio are a huge influence on our society today.

“We are a generation that are sickly CONSUMED in EVERYBODY ELSE damn business..” ~ undisclosed

“Insecure people attack “Secure” people with a mission to create INSECURITIES..” ~ undisclosed

“Hurt people wanna do just that.. HURT people..” ~ undisclosed

“Ok.. From Monday to next MONDAY. No Media, News, Blogs, Websites, and here’s the REAL challenge stay away from ALL NEGATIVE PEOPLE! You in??” ~ undisclosed

This means no TV, Radio, and Internet (outside of your scope of business or school) and of course away from all negative people and negativity in general!!

So it all starts with YOU. The more you suppress yourself, the more you keep busy (away from your issues), the more you stay influenced by others that do not have your best interest at heart then the longer it will be to get your CLOSURE.  And there is so much closure out there needing to be made.

Good luck to anyone who has decided to take on this great challenge. It will be tough but it will also help you GROW. You’ll gain a new hobby, learn from reading a great book and start to love yourself more.

I’m doing it too so wish me lots of luck and I will be back in one week!!  Take care everyone!!!

~ Love yourself first, that is the goal, don’t worry, it’s completely unselfish of you ~

5 Simple Steps to get through Discouragement

1.                  DON’T GET DISCOURAGED!! It happens. You will be doing just fine one day and then next thing you know, you get caught up in a whole lotta nothin. Distractions, Discouragement and Disappointment seem to just keep piling up more and more around you. It’s almost like a snowball effect. It starts out small and rolls and rolls into this gigantic snow boulder that in reality ends up being a huge headache. Don’t let it get to you!! Sometimes these distractions can be there to help you without you even knowing it. The end result is that no one can ever take what is YOU away from YOU but YOU. You have the power and ability to turn away from the distractions, the discouraging words, the disappointments and start a new.

2.                  CLEANSE YOURSELF!! Cleanse your mind, body & soul. I mean physically go and shower, shampoo and shine!!  You will be amazed to realize how the water affects your thinking when you’re relaxing and rejuvenating your mind and body. As your mind is relaxed, meditate and close your eyes and think about what makes you happy. Think about the plans that you’ve made and begin to visualize how each thought connects to what makes you happy. Before you know it your mind will be zooming with more and more ideas and your creative thoughts will begin to flow just as the water is flowing. It truly works.

3.                  REMOVE YOURSELF FROM DISTRACTIONS!! That means step away from the computer, away from the television, away from the stereo, away from chaos and get some alone time, a.k.a. “me time.” Get to know your inner being, your inner voice, what your heart and mind is telling you, what you’ve brainstormed in the shower. You need to give your full attention to your PASSION!! Having a passion and knowing what you want to do about it is half the battle and well worth the time you put into it. Bring all those ideas into the forefront and make them happen!!

4.                  PEN TO PAPER!! I am old fashioned and I definitely get much more out of writing on a pad of paper than typing on the computer. Again, eliminate all distractions, focus on your inner self and remember why you’re doing this in the first place!! Remember what brings you joy and begin to start brainstorming on paper. Write out your passion and then all the connecting words or phrases or ideas to it that you can. You’ll be surprised what you come up with. Once you see it on paper, it will motivate you even more.

5.                  YOUR TO DO LIST!! Check off the items you’ve completed and feel good about that!! You’ve made progress!! Once you start looking at all the things you’ve accomplished so far, you can start adding new “To Do” items from your brainstorming. Stay focused on what is most important to you and how passionate you feel about your purpose for doing it and for making that decision of actually doing something about it!! Before you know it, you will be full of great ideas. Look at discouragements or distractions that come your way as a blessing in disguise. It’s just a way to tell you to get back to your SELF!!Self-Motivation is what it’s all about so always “keep it movin.”

“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.” ~ Albert Einstein

Be Your Authentic You

What does that mean?? It means BE YOU, BE THE REAL YOU!!

AUTHENTIC means true to one’s own personality, spirit or character

Ever since I read the following quote: “The older I get the more I don’t care if I fit in with everyone else!” ~ Facebook Like

I’ve been able to do less worrying about what other people think and more concentrating on who I am and how unique and wonderful I am more and more becoming to be. People will always be critical but it’s how you handle that criticism and thought process that will save you.
