3 Steps to Think Positive for Success

Ask, Believe, Receive~”Whatsoever you shall ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive”~Matthew 21:22

There are 3 Steps to Meditating for Success.

1.      Ask.  Ask yourself, “What do you really want?” Write in the present tense and be clear about what you really want for yourself. Keep in mind what makes you happy, what makes you passionate about something and how can you help others in doing so?

2.      Believe.  Believe that it is already yours. Believe that you can see it happening, believe that you are in that moment of being where and doing what you want for yourself.

3.      Receive.  You deserve all good things that life has to offer. Remember that.

The way you think has a huge influence on the way you “be.” Yes, I said the way you “be.”  Have you heard the quote, “I think, therefore, I am.” ~ Rene Descartes When you “be” thinking negative your thoughts will directly affect how you “be.”

“Your thoughts and your feelings create your life. It will always be that way, guaranteed!  You have the power to change anything because you are the one who chooses your thoughts and you are the one who feels your feelings.” ~ from the book, “The Secret”

I say this always, STAY POSITIVE. It can be so very hard, especially when you have so many people in your life that for some reason want to insist on bringing you down. Stay true to yourself and Believe in yourself. You know what is right for you and what is wrong for you and you always have a choice so make the decision that is wisest for your own benefit.

Unresolved Issues

“Hanging onto resentment is like letting someone you despise live rent-free in your head.” ~ Ann Landers

They say it is YOU that causes the negative emotions because it is YOU that chooses what you see and how you perceive things. They say YOU cannot rely on others to make you happy but how can all this be true when in Life what makes you grow are the experiences that you go through when interacting with others.

I say that people should be more accountable for their actions and how it affects other people. People have the ability to refrain from saying hurtful things or acting in a hurtful manner. There should be no reason for actions such as those unless they are acting in defense towards the person they are attacking. If that is not the case, then why bother. There is no need for it.

What is the reason why people act in such a Negative way? Typically, it is because something deep inside of them has not been resolved. They are struggling with Unresolved Issues. It could be something that comes up from their past that hits a nerve when they run across someone that reminds them of that incident or it could be a recent incident where they did not address the issue right away and has now let it linger to a breaking point or meltdown. It’s best to “Nip things in the bud.” Do not let things linger. If something is bothering you it is much better to get it out in the open and out of your system until it is gone.

We live life wanting and trying to do what is right. We listen to those that may be offering some sound advice but it doesn’t seem to be working. Why? Because you are not being yourself. The more you suppress your true feelings in order to please someone else or to be politically correct, the more you are not able to use your autonomy and deal with your issue at once. Not being you can cause health issues such as, Anxiety, Depression and Low Self-Esteem. Once you realize what things are bothering you, you will get to know the real you and you will be able to better align your choices in who you allow into your world or who you want to get out of your world.

You are your best resource. No one can tell you any better. They are not you. They may have experienced what you are going through but ultimately, it is up to you on how you want to accept it. The quicker you clean your slate, the more you do not keep things lingering, the better your true autonomy shows. Be yourself and you will then realize who is worth keeping around in your thoughts or not.

7 Ways to Motivate Your Day

It’s after the weekend and back to the office or back to your day job. Even if you work from home you should always be ahead of the game. The best thing to do to get ahead of the weekend is to get your mindset there. The art of being self-motivated is to be and stay focused.

  1. Write a To Do List the night before. Keep it simple. Prioritize by importance and work your way down. You should end up with at least 5 to 7 items by the time you’re done. This is a guide that will keep you in check just in case distractions come your way (and you know they will) and if you don’t get them all done, it’s OK!!
  2. Go to bed early!! This is a must!! Neither you nor anyone around you will get things done if you are at the office complaining that you didn’t get enough rest so REST!!
  3. Rise Early!! When that alarm clock strikes, get up and get busy. If you’re a snoozer, set your clock an hour earlier so you can get that last bit of rest in. It’s a mind game, I tell you.
  4. Breakfast!! It’s important to eat something in the morning. I’m a coffee drinker so the first thing I do is start a pot of coffee and get some breakfast in my system.
  5. Move!! You’re body needs circulation of the blood. It could be Yoga, the Gym or even walking your dog in the morning. At least 20 to 30 minutes will give you that boost of energy that you need.
  6. Pick a “Quote of the Day” or “Mantra” you can do this while you’re in the shower. I used to pick a status of the day for Facebook and everyday I’d post it. You can pick a quote just to keep for yourself. It would be a good idea to pick something motivating to last you through the day.
  7. Commit to being motivated. It’s not hard to do especially when you know what you have to do for the day.

Self-Motivation is the key to all your days especially through these trying times when you don’t know if you’ll be laid off next and you don’t know if your boss or co-workers are trying to figure out another way to throw you off your game. Days can be tough but if you organize ahead of everyone, you’re already winning. Don’t get stuck under the bus and definitely don’t let anyone throw you under the bus either. Aim on having a wonderfully, productive week and it’ll happen for you.

Are you in Good Company?

Tyrese Gibson wrote this quote on Twitter, “I’d rather go where I’m celebrated not where I’m tolerated.”

This is a very powerful statement. You can have an enormous amount of friends, family, coworkers and associates but not all of them will like you nor will they have your back. Some will either celebrate your presence in the form of a warm welcoming or tolerate your presence with a short lip, ignore you or even worse smile in your face and talk behind your back.

It’s really sad that no matter what you do, you just can’t please everyone. The positive side to that is that you can choose to be around winners. Winners have no problem with you because deep inside there is no ulterior motive, no judgment or inferiority. Winners are usually always happy with themselves and when people are happy with themselves they generate happiness by giving it to others.

When you realize the ones that you need to cut out in your life, you have every right to choose not to deal with them anymore. If you love yourself, you’ll do what’s right for you. You should always surround yourself with positive people as much as you can.

Friends are hard to come by especially when you get older so make the best of who you see and meet, be wise in your choices and try not to judge. “Being yourself is beautiful, your personality is beautiful so let it shine.” ~ Ailee

The Focus is On You!!

In doing the MediaFast, the focus is on you, and being that the focus is on you, making the best of that time would be the best thing you could do to make the best of the MediaFast in general.

Off with the TV, off with the radio and off with the internet…hmmm, well the internet lasted for maybe a couple of hours into the first day but because I work from home and use the internet for work, it was basically a necessity that I be on it. However, it all boils down to what you actually do on the internet and the unnecessary time that you can waste being on the internet that the MediaFast was good for. So with that being said, (patting myself on the back), I managed to stay away from my regular social networking sites, such as, Facebook and Twitter for a total of 5 whole days!! That was probably the best thing that I could ever do. These social networks can reel you in for hours upon hours of the day and before you know it, you’re stuck in front of the computer and a good 2 hours has now passed you by because you’re constantly keeping up with the comments and statuses and tweets and retweets that are continually floating down the computer screen. Being away from it for 5 days helped me to recognize that a comment or tweet just isn’t that important to wait around for and indulge in. In order to get peace of mind, it can wait. Now I am not knocking the use of Facebook or Twitter one bit, but you should definitely learn to discipline yourself from it because it can be a waste of some good quality time for yourself.

Now TV was rather difficult. First off, I do not live alone and my boyfriend is definitely an avid TV watcher and being that it is football and now basketball season and the fact that he loves all the CSI and Law and Order episodes, it makes it very difficult. I ended up sneaking a peak at the Lakers game on Tuesday night and after that, it was all over, I ended up watching the whole game and yessss, the Lakers won!! I did manage during the day to not watch TV, stuck to my regular work and read a good book during quiet times but after another day of complete quietness, I began to watch more and more TV. Now with the help of MediaFast, I did manage to only limit myself to watching things like the History Channel, HGTV and maybe some biographies so I still did keep up my bargain with keeping away from the news, media and gossip or reality TV. Again, it is all how you discipline yourself in what you watch and how you handle your spare time.

Radio is a piece of cake. I love music but I really haven’t taken much time into listening to the radio for the past couple of months probably even years because everything is on video or on the internet.

So there you have it, my experience with MediaFasting. It was pretty much shortened up to 5 days. As I read some of the tweets about it, I did happen to see several people checking in, adding their experiences, most of them good and then some of them giving up after the first day. All in all, it was a good experience and it really helped me focus on more of getting to know me, it helped me catch up on a much needed book and also helped me to make plans and believe me there are some plans in progress!! I’m so excited about them too!!

Just remember, you’re never too busy to take care of yourself. You come first before anyone else, remember that!!  Take Care all :0)
