What brings change?

The answer:  INSPIRATION

Martin Luther King, Jr. ~ A Great Inspiration

A movement equals Change. Change equals the physical Act of doing. It is only by the Empowerment that we Give to others through Encouragement and Inspiration that a Movement for Change can become True.

Why was Martin Luther King, Jr. such an inspiration for those in the past as well as for those now in our present? I believe it is through his passion to immobilize the thoughts of Hate throughout the nation and bring forth Peace to those that have been yearning for better todays and longing for better tomorrows.

A promoter of Peace will always encourage, will always inspire and will always empower. It is through these actions that any Change can come about in what can be a hateful environment.

“At the center of non-violence stands the principle of love.” ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.

“In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.” ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.

“I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.” ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.

“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.” ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.

“Let no man pull you low enough to hate him.” ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.

Let’s strive to create a world of peace in a troubled economy, in troubled personal times and in a troubled society through the use of empowering others through encouragement and inspiration.

What is YOUR DREAM??

I have a dream that one day we will have more compassion instead of greed, that we will have more understanding instead of judgments. ~ Ailee

“Seek peace, and pursue it.” ~ Proverbs 34:14

The 13th Zodiac Sign Revealed: 1/13/11

OPHIUCHUS – Discarded by the Babylonians because they wanted 12

Ophiuchus became the 13th Zodiac Sign on January 13, 2011. It includes those born between November 29 and December 17. It is associated with ancient goddesses with a snake in each hand and represents healing, medicine and enlightenment, very similar to the common medical icons in today’s medical industry. It is associated with the galactic center and the black hole.

Mythological history: the figure represents the Healer, Asclepius, who learned the secrets of keeping death at bay after observing one serpent bringing another healing herbs. To prevent the entire race from being immortal (having eternal life) under Asclepius care, Zeus killed him with a bolt of lightning, but later placed his image in the heavens to honor his good works. Ophiuchus is close to that of Sagittarius, which has at times been believed to represent Chiron (mentor of Asclepius).

The new Zodiac sign dates are as follows:

Capricorn: Jan 20 – Feb 16
Aquarius: Feb 16 – Mar 11
Pisces:  Mar 11 – Apr 18
Aries: Apr 18 – May 13
Taurus: May 13 – Jun 21
Gemini: Jun 21 – Jul 20
Cancer: Jul 20 – Aug 10
Leo: Aug 10 – Sep 16
Virgo: Sept 16 – Oct 30
Libra: Oct 30 – Nov 23
Scorpio: Nov 23 – Nov 29

Sagittarius: Dec 17 – Jan 20

At first I paid it no mind as I saw the comments float around twitter and facebook but until I did some research and realized that my birthdate was given the actual 13th forgotten about Zodiac name, I became excited as I found so many similar characteristics matching the traits that I have begun to accumulate through the last 8 years of my life. There will be some that laugh and joke about it, complain about it and get irritated by it but for me, I’m a happy camper!! =) Change is good!!

“Success is moving from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.” ~ Sir Winston Churchill

It sounds jaded but so true. Success is something that doesn’t happen overnight. Success is something you have to work at with your dreams, your goals and most importantly, your enthusiasm.

Never let a day go by to where what you are dreaming of never comes to fruition. Your dream is there. It may go through some alterations but keep your spirits high and if you get frustrated, take a quick break and step away but come back with all the reasons why you wanted to do this in the first place.

Enthusiasm is Key. Enthusiasm is Happy and Happy is Good!! Never give up!!

I don’t know how many times I have allowed outside circumstances to affect my behavior. I would even allow it to consume me into the next day but once I read the chapter, “The Powerful Process of Gratitude” in the book, “The Secret,” all my negative and worrisome emotions diminished at once. From then on, I made a conscious to decision to make Gratitude a part of my daily life from the moment I wake up.

“What can you do right now to begin to turn your life around? The very first thing is to start making a list of things to be grateful for.” ~ Dr. Joe Vitale

Once I read those very sentences is when a light opened up and began clearing all my cloudy thoughts around me. I immediately started feeling happy for all the things that I have in my life at that moment and I began to start mentally going through each one, and as I did that more and more came to mind.

Making a conscious decision to be thankful from the moment you wake up to the moment you go to bed allows you to take over your day in a positive way without the day possibly taking over you in a negative way.

The idea is to focus on what you already have and that you are grateful for. Everyone has come a long way in their life and sometimes we forget the things that we’ve accomplished to get where we are at today. We are always wanting more and more of what we don’t have and what we are trying to achieve. Think about the fact that you are not promised tomorrow, so be thankful for what you have at this very moment today.

Make Gratitude a Way of Life, once you do that, all the minor set backs that may come your way, will be a piece of cake to get through. The beauty of Gratitude is that it changes your Attitude.

Today, I am thankful to God for waking me up this morning and providing me another day to live out the life that he has intended for me to live as well as all the other things that I have accomplished to make me the person I am today. I walk in honor of serving him and doing my best for today.

Peace of Mind

In an ongoing world of thoughts, emotions, moments and events, how do you achieve your Piece of Mind? It’s amazing how much information your brain actually absorbs in just one hour to one day to one month to one year. How do you protect yourself from all the many bits and pieces of information your brain digests?

I find that I am inspired by encouraging and positive thoughts and I even become so inspired that I too, want to share my thoughts and ideas out into the world but I tend to attract not so positive messages as well and it leads to second guessing myself a lot. As you begin to become more open-minded and more able to voice your opinion, you will also come across many challengers along the way that may take you off of your positive ride into a roller coaster pit. Being able to filter your mind is a wonderful tool to use to get that piece of mind.

I have found that whenever I run into a roadblock for my happiness it’s because I am allowing those thoughts, messages and emotions to cloud my original encouraging state of mind with those of someone who may be having a bad day.  Remember that quote, “Don’t let anyone steal your joy.” It would be wise to keep it in the back of your mind everytime you run into conflict while you are on your journey in life.

To obtain Piece of Mind you must believe in a higher power above yourself. I believe in God. He is my strength and my salvation. He has never failed me in my faith and has always been my reliable source to getting back on track when I become lost. When you really appreciate and are thankful for your higher power (your God) has done for you, you immediately feel it in your heart and it begins to saturate the love you have inside throughout your whole being. It is truly amazing.

For those that don’t know, God is Love. It is as simple as that and once you realize that, all the hurt, the negativity and resentment disappears.

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” ~ Proverbs 3:56

Some of you still may not have reached that point in your life where you have come across a huge ordeal in your lifetime, where you have no other choice but to rely on a higher power. Not everyone may agree and I’m only speaking from experience but I can tell you this; in times of loneliness, despair, tragedy and deceit, God has never let me down in lifting my spirits. Once you believe in him, he gives you the grace of being able to love yourself again. God is love and that love sits in the hearts of all of us. We just have to be thankful and show gratitude for what we already have.

3 Steps to Think Positive for Success

Ask, Believe, Receive~”Whatsoever you shall ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive”~Matthew 21:22

There are 3 Steps to Meditating for Success.

1.      Ask.  Ask yourself, “What do you really want?” Write in the present tense and be clear about what you really want for yourself. Keep in mind what makes you happy, what makes you passionate about something and how can you help others in doing so?

2.      Believe.  Believe that it is already yours. Believe that you can see it happening, believe that you are in that moment of being where and doing what you want for yourself.

3.      Receive.  You deserve all good things that life has to offer. Remember that.

The way you think has a huge influence on the way you “be.” Yes, I said the way you “be.”  Have you heard the quote, “I think, therefore, I am.” ~ Rene Descartes When you “be” thinking negative your thoughts will directly affect how you “be.”

“Your thoughts and your feelings create your life. It will always be that way, guaranteed!  You have the power to change anything because you are the one who chooses your thoughts and you are the one who feels your feelings.” ~ from the book, “The Secret”

I say this always, STAY POSITIVE. It can be so very hard, especially when you have so many people in your life that for some reason want to insist on bringing you down. Stay true to yourself and Believe in yourself. You know what is right for you and what is wrong for you and you always have a choice so make the decision that is wisest for your own benefit.

Unresolved Issues

“Hanging onto resentment is like letting someone you despise live rent-free in your head.” ~ Ann Landers

They say it is YOU that causes the negative emotions because it is YOU that chooses what you see and how you perceive things. They say YOU cannot rely on others to make you happy but how can all this be true when in Life what makes you grow are the experiences that you go through when interacting with others.

I say that people should be more accountable for their actions and how it affects other people. People have the ability to refrain from saying hurtful things or acting in a hurtful manner. There should be no reason for actions such as those unless they are acting in defense towards the person they are attacking. If that is not the case, then why bother. There is no need for it.

What is the reason why people act in such a Negative way? Typically, it is because something deep inside of them has not been resolved. They are struggling with Unresolved Issues. It could be something that comes up from their past that hits a nerve when they run across someone that reminds them of that incident or it could be a recent incident where they did not address the issue right away and has now let it linger to a breaking point or meltdown. It’s best to “Nip things in the bud.” Do not let things linger. If something is bothering you it is much better to get it out in the open and out of your system until it is gone.

We live life wanting and trying to do what is right. We listen to those that may be offering some sound advice but it doesn’t seem to be working. Why? Because you are not being yourself. The more you suppress your true feelings in order to please someone else or to be politically correct, the more you are not able to use your autonomy and deal with your issue at once. Not being you can cause health issues such as, Anxiety, Depression and Low Self-Esteem. Once you realize what things are bothering you, you will get to know the real you and you will be able to better align your choices in who you allow into your world or who you want to get out of your world.

You are your best resource. No one can tell you any better. They are not you. They may have experienced what you are going through but ultimately, it is up to you on how you want to accept it. The quicker you clean your slate, the more you do not keep things lingering, the better your true autonomy shows. Be yourself and you will then realize who is worth keeping around in your thoughts or not.

7 Ways to Motivate Your Day

It’s after the weekend and back to the office or back to your day job. Even if you work from home you should always be ahead of the game. The best thing to do to get ahead of the weekend is to get your mindset there. The art of being self-motivated is to be and stay focused.

  1. Write a To Do List the night before. Keep it simple. Prioritize by importance and work your way down. You should end up with at least 5 to 7 items by the time you’re done. This is a guide that will keep you in check just in case distractions come your way (and you know they will) and if you don’t get them all done, it’s OK!!
  2. Go to bed early!! This is a must!! Neither you nor anyone around you will get things done if you are at the office complaining that you didn’t get enough rest so REST!!
  3. Rise Early!! When that alarm clock strikes, get up and get busy. If you’re a snoozer, set your clock an hour earlier so you can get that last bit of rest in. It’s a mind game, I tell you.
  4. Breakfast!! It’s important to eat something in the morning. I’m a coffee drinker so the first thing I do is start a pot of coffee and get some breakfast in my system.
  5. Move!! You’re body needs circulation of the blood. It could be Yoga, the Gym or even walking your dog in the morning. At least 20 to 30 minutes will give you that boost of energy that you need.
  6. Pick a “Quote of the Day” or “Mantra” you can do this while you’re in the shower. I used to pick a status of the day for Facebook and everyday I’d post it. You can pick a quote just to keep for yourself. It would be a good idea to pick something motivating to last you through the day.
  7. Commit to being motivated. It’s not hard to do especially when you know what you have to do for the day.

Self-Motivation is the key to all your days especially through these trying times when you don’t know if you’ll be laid off next and you don’t know if your boss or co-workers are trying to figure out another way to throw you off your game. Days can be tough but if you organize ahead of everyone, you’re already winning. Don’t get stuck under the bus and definitely don’t let anyone throw you under the bus either. Aim on having a wonderfully, productive week and it’ll happen for you.
